I’ve always loved mucking around in things. Sand, water, food- you name it! So it should come as no surprise that one of my favourite things about parenting a toddler is having an excuse to do all the sensory things. It’s for the kids, right? Riiiight.
On a serious note sensory bins are absolutely amazing in their simple ability to engage and mesmerize me- I mean the kids. This is for the kids.
If you’re looking for something easy to throw together check out the Ocean Sensory bin below :)
DISCLAIMER: This bin is much more entertaining if your child dresses as a scuba diver and/ or shark.
Here are the supplies you’ll need:
- Water beads: I purchased these from the dollar store for $2.00 per package (each pack goes a long
- Marine animals: Amazon has tons of marine animal toys that come in a bundle or you can find a set from Toys R Us for next to nothing.
- Magnifying glass
- Fishing net
If the ocean theme is a hit then you could also do a bin that has shells hidden in sand. Our boys loved to dig and rake through this one!
